The next step is moving patients to short-term inpatient treatment. The goal is to ensure symptom reduction and crisis stabilization. Patients are given medication during this time, if necessary.

Silver Hill Hospital also offers a long-term transitional living program. This program builds upon the therapy that is completed during inpatient treatment. It incorporates group therapy, DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) and also, 12 step work. The program is offered separately to women as they believe that addiction & co-occurring disorders affect women differently than men.

When inpatient treatment is not an option because of school or work, to facilitate patients they offer intensive outpatient treatment which utilizes similar modalities as inpatient treatment.
