Areas of Specialization
DAY PROGRAM
These programs are offered in Muscogee and Randolph Counties. Treatment is available to those seeking intensive recovery support for three to five days per week, as well as those seeking aftercare and less intensive treatment one to two days per week. Treatment includes recovery groups based on the 12-step model and evidence based practices. Additional services include psycho-education regarding substances and the addiction process, group and family counseling, and random drug screens. This program is also offered in a gender-specific version.
RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS
Journey to Recovery is a semi-independent living program in Columbus that provides help to men and women struggling with addiction in a supportive living environment. Residents are assisted with achieving sobriety and employment. Two Crisis beds are available for persons just entering treatment and three transitional housing beds for persons needing to continue their aftercare in a safe and structured environment. This program also contains two transitional housing apartments for women transitioning from treatment to aftercare as part of the Women’s Treatment and Recovery Services Program.
Shelter Plus Care Program
The Shelter Plus Care Program is a scattered-site housing program funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Community Affairs. Rent is subsidized for those who qualify through documentation of homelessness and a mental health/addictive disease diagnosis.
Case Managers provide assistance with medication monitoring, doctor appointments; daily living skills, housekeeping, shopping and other related needs in order to maintain the consumer within the community.
The Harm Reduction Case Management Program is designed to help those needing extra support with reducing the harmful consequences of risky behavior related to drug and alcohol abuse. Since implementation, this combination of programs has provided the extra supported needed to help clients remain in stable housing, find employment, avoid arrest and avoid admission to crisis programs

New Beginnings and Forest Wood Group Homes
New Beginnings and Forest Wood Group Homes in Columbus provides a structured environment for those needing intense support with developing the needed skills to live independently in the community. These Group Homes provide housing for people who have lost their home or have become incapable of continuing to live independently due to substance abuse or mental illness.
Women’s Treatment and Recovery System
Women’s Treatment and Recovery System (WTRS) offers prioirty admission for pregnant women and IV drug users. The Women’s Treatment and Recovery Services (WTRS) view recovery as an ongoing process to improve health and wellness and live satisfying self-directed lives for women.
WTRS helps to identify barriers to employment, education, housing, family roles and responsibilities, and to identify unique strengths,preferences, and natural supports in the community. Our target population is women with substance use disorders who are pregnant and/or parenting children under the age of 13 years, but also includes all eligible women.
Our WTRS program works with individuals who are at high risk for relapse, are pregnant, have Child Protective Services or Family Support Involvement, criminal justice involvement, psychiatric disorders, and are sufficiently medically stable to participate in treatment.
Our WTRS Program is committed to providing flexible care that is engaging and empowering to help addicted women be better mothers, wives, sisters and daughters. We are committed to providing holistic and gender responsive care. Call (844)-887-0088 for Intake and Admission to the program.
